The Information Technology Branch (ITB) provides leadership and service for all information technology (IT) resources for the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI).

ITB provides LAN and WAN connections and administrative support of computer networks.

Information Resource Management

ITB researches federal and IT regulations, maintains the IT budget and property, manages IT contracts and software licenses, and coordinates the purchase of IT-related hardware and software.

Education Technology

ITB provides technology support to the NHGRI community.

Information Assurance

ITB ensures that NHGRI operates within the guidelines of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) for information assurance and security policies. ITB also provides anti-virus software information.

Policy and Technology

ITB ensures compliance with mandated DHHS/NIH regulations and provides guidance for preparing, distributing, and implementing IT policies.
