Sara Hull
Sara Hull, director of the NHGRI Bioethics Core, recalls how she first heard about the Human Genome Project (HGP) in high school and how she was studying genetics in AP Biology class. There were some heated debates in the class on whether genetics was the science of the future or was it moving too fast. By working at NIH as a bioethicist, Hull says one of the great innovations of the HGP was how it funded and provided resources to support the study of the ethical, legal and social implications of genetic research.
