David Valle
David Valle, M.D., is the director of the McKusick-Nathans Institute of Genetic Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he is also a professor of medical genetics. His other positions include being a co-principal investigator at Center for Inherited Disease (CIDR) at Johns Hopkins University and principal investigator at the Baylor Hopkins Center for Medical Genomics (BCHMG). This oral history will cover Dr. Valle’s early life and education in science, his time at Johns Hopkins University under the guidance of famed geneticist Victor McKusick, his experience as an advisor on the Human Genome Project, and his more recent work helping to further establish genomics at Johns Hopkins post-Human Genome Project.
