Biography

Zach Utz, M.A., is the archivist and public historian for the History of Genomics Program, part of the Office of Communications, NHGRI. Zach oversees and maintains the NHGRI’s extensive historical archive, housing materials from the Human Genome Project and subsequent landmark initiatives led or began by NHGRI. He also supports the Office of Communications in several ways, including developing original historical/educational content for genome.gov and NHGRI’s social media channels, as well as assisting in the production of oral histories. Zach received his M.A. in Historical Studies from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and his B.A. in Guitar Performance from Towson University.
